Профессиональная деятельность:

С отличием окончил Куйбышевский политехнический институт в 1962 г. по специальности «Технология основного органического синтеза».

В 1965 г. защитил кандидатскую диссертацию (научный руководитель проф. Д.Н. Андреевский).

В 1975 г. защитил докторскую диссертацию по теме «Исследование равновесий реакций и некоторые закономерности в термодинамических свойствах галогеналканов, алканов, алкенов» (г. Минск, БГУ).

С 1979 г. по настоящее время профессор кафедры физической химии.

В 1998-2004 г. заведующий кафедрой физической химии.

С 1990 г. по 2008 г. заведующий лабораторией термодинамики органических веществ НИИ физико-химических проблем БГУ.

Область научных интересов и научная работа:

Экспериментальное исследование термодинамических свойств органических веществ, разработка аддитивных и корреляционных методов расчета физико-химических свойств, термодинамика фазовых переходов веществ с динамическими структурами, энергетические состояния молекул в пластических кристаллах, ионные жидкости, термодинамическое обоснование энерго- и ресурсосберегающих технологий.

 

С 1969 по 2009 г. подготовлен 21 кандидат наук, при консультациях Кабо Г.Я. подготовлены и защищены 4 докторские диссертации (проф. Роганов Г.Н., д.х.н. Юрша И.А., д.х.н. Козыро А.А. (погиб в 1998 г.), проф. Блохин А.В.). Утвержден в качестве научного консультанта по докторской диссертации Павлечко Е.В. «Термодинамические свойства ионных жидкостей».
