More that 100 local and non-local participants took part in plenary and panel sessions held during this two-day event. The First BSU Vice-Rector M.Zhuravkov, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Belarus Maira Mora, Head of the Department for European Cooperation (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) D.Sidorenko, Coordinator of TEMPUS/Erasmus + Programmes in Belarus N.Listopad, as well as number of officials from diplomatic missions in Belarus (including Romania, Hungary, Estonia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Latvia and Russia) attended the Opening. Chairmen of panel sessions delivered speeches during the second part of the plenary session addressing above all such issues like human potential in EU policy, European Education & Culture policy, practices of project implementation under Jean Monnet Programme at BSU, European foreign and security policy. Four panel sessions (1. “EU foreign policy”; 2. “EU industrial and economic policy”; 3. “EU legal development”; 4. “Education and Culture”) focused on specific subjects and put together specialists and experts from different fields of social sciences and humanities thus providing multidisciplinary reflection of European integration.

The Conference has been actively promoted at Belarusian Internet resources including major nationwide portals (Belarusian Telegraph Agency), (Belarusian Private News Agency), (Web-portal for Belarusian HEIs), BSU web-site. The Conference Web-site containing on-line registration form, practical information for participants, electronic versions of conferences presentation and reports, on-line evaluation form, news line, photo gallery and list of participants with their contact details to be transformed into thematic informational resource on EU related studies with a free access, interactive tools for networking, exchange of ideas, posting articles and disseminate progressive knowledge on EU related topics. Dissemination campaign in mass media has covered wide range of news portals, thematic web-sites and periodicals to promote outcomes of the Conference, as well as the Jean Monnet Programme among Belarusian academic community to stimulate the formation of new ideas for future Jean Monnet projects.

Two publications following the Conference will be available soon: “Catalogue of Belarusian experts in the area of European integration studies” compiled using the data of participants and speakers on panel sessions to promote networking among experts, researchers and policy makers, and “Collection of Research Papers presented at the Conference” (in Russian with abstracts in English) to modernize education process, conduct research on EU related topics. These two publications will be distributed to all libraries of Belarus to be available for students and researchers interested in topics related to thematic fields addressed at the Conference. Electronic versions of all printed publications will also be available for all participants and those interested.

The Conference brought together Belarusian government officials, representatives of International and European affiliated structures in Belarus, Embassies of EU member states accredited in Belarus, representatives of Belarusian public sector who engaged in EU related research, Belarusian and EU academic and research community to provide networking with local and international colleagues, broadening knowledge about different aspects of EU related research and developing new up-to-date data sources available for analysis, interactive tools for exchange of ideas, new courses on EU studies and new projects in this field.
