Presentation of the Visegrad Fund activities and program was held in the BSU on May 18. The objective of presentation was to inform students and staff of the BSU about study and research opportunities in HEIs of the Visegrad Group countries (Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary).

The presentation was delivered by Petr Vagner, an executive director of the Fund, and his colleagues – Jiri Sykora, a PR manager, and Andrea Mackova, second secretary of the Embassy of Slovak republics in Belarus. Ms. Andrea Mackova also holds a position of official representative of VF in Belarus.

Event was attended by BSU students and staff. They evoked a big interest to the co-called Belarusian Scholarships scheme offered by the Fund. This scholarship program is part of the In-Coming Scholaships and is suitable for Belarusian students and scholars who wish to study at accredited public or private universities or institutes of the given academies of sciences in the Visegrad Group countries.

The financial assistance provided to Belarus covers up to 60 semesters annually. Successful applicants within this scheme receive scholarships of €2,300 per semester and the corresponding host universities/institutes receive €1,500/semester/scholar. In case if applicants place of residence is further than 1,500 km from the selected host university/institute students or scholars are eligible for a one-time travel grant.
