General Information

Professional training at the faculty of journalism of BSU started in 1944. Our faculty has become one of the most prestigious departments of the BSU since that time.

There are 6000 students who have got a diploma at our faculty. Some of them work at the periodicals, on TV and radio-stations, at press-centers and press-services, the others have chosen ad-agencies, public relation services and other fields of mass media for everyday work.

Over 400 students from China, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Syria, Senegal, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Poland and other countries have graduated from the Foreign journalist department.

Staff: 66, including 9 doctors and 39 candidates of sciences.

Faculty offers programs of study leading to the Diploma of Higher Education, Master Degree, PhD Degree.

2. Journalism (field – Audio-visual Media)
Specialization: Radio and TV-Journalism

3. International Journalism

Scientific directions
     The staff of the faculty of Journalism does the research in various directions: working out the theoretical bases and analyses of work at the editorial offices of Belarusian newspapers, magazines, TV and radio-stations; scientific and informative analyses the participation of Belarus in the process of integration of the European continent; analyses of regional press work and reasons of its functional priorities in the contemporary informative world; formulating and scientific modeling  of creative methods which can be used in different types of editions and audio-visual channels of Mass Media; investigating the principles of the national culture developing in social, cultural, communicational, and linguistic aspects.
